Why I Use Tallow

When I started Common Cow, I wasn’t interested in making another skincare brand with a long ingredient list. I wanted products that were simple, effective, and made with ingredients I believe in.

Tallow has been used in skincare for generations. It’s an excellent moisturizer that helps create a protective barrier on the skin and reduce moisture loss. Because of that, I can build products around one primary ingredient instead of relying on dozens of extras.

I also appreciate that tallow is a byproduct of beef production. Rather than letting that resource go to waste, it can be transformed into high-quality skincare. Supporting grass-fed cattle farmers and making use of the whole animal aligns with the values behind Common Cow.

That doesn’t mean everyone has to use tallow. There are plenty of good skincare products on the market. It’s simply the ingredient I believe offers the best foundation for the products I want to make.

At Common Cow, the goal is straightforward: quality ingredients, thoughtful formulations, and products that do what they’re supposed to do.

Pure Tallow. No Nonsense.
